Study Reveals Lack of Internal Leadership Job Candidates
Approximately one-half of business leaders responding to a global survey on succession planning stated that their organizations did not have a solid pipeline of candidates who are ready to assume leadership jobs, according to Hanover Research. More than 1,000 business leaders participated in the survey and almost 50 percent reported that their organizations are more likely to recruit from outside than to promote internal candidates into leadership jobs, especially for top-level management or “C-suite” jobs.
