Business Development Manager (filled by CNI Recruiting)

Job Number: 2007

Job Summary: Manage a Business Development team for a small defense manufacturer. A pleasant, professional, dynamic, and entrepreneurial work environment where creativity is encouraged. You will sell Environmental Control Units to the Department of Defense, military services, and prime DoD contractors. Candidates should reside in or near Valencia, CA. 50% travel. Excellent compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay current with new DoD military programs and agreements that can result in company sales
  • Understand DoD relationships with Prime Contractors and Sub-Tier suppliers
  • Generate and qualify leads
  • Build and maintain prospect and customer relationships
  • Present key selling points, features, and benefits
  • Manage proposals
  • Team with senior sales management to finalize sales
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling prices
  • Ensure customer satisfaction including appropriately aligning expectations
  • Participate in the preparation of marketing materials
  • Prepare sales forecasts, quotas, sales plans and prepare and implement market strategies
  • Keep current with market supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Participate in trade shows and other events

Requirements:

  • Experience working in the government or technical sector with technical or government contracts including sales, capture, and fulfillment
  • Proven track record in identifying and pursuing sales with new and existing customers and markets
  • Proven track record of meeting and/or exceeding sales goals
  • Excellent analytical, multi-tasking, negotiation, persuasion, verbal, writing, public speaking, interpersonal, active listening, organizational, time management, problem-solving, decision making, and customer service skills
  • Able to prepare and present high-quality presentations to all prospect and customer levels
  • Ability to manage financial resources and changing budgets
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering, or related field
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card)
